Since 2001 the Ducati Monster
S4 has been one of the top unfaired motor cycles available. From the engine
point of view, it is not just an offshoot of the successful Monster range, but
a completely new project. On this naked bike with its attractive, very technically
effective appearance, carbon fibre has been used to reduce the weight, including
of the mudguards and the cog belt cover. This power bike is driven by a powerful
916 Desmoquattro engine, the 996, which is distinguished by its excellent high-revving
capability, offering a noteworthy flexibility and performance that are unequalled
in this range. The twin-cylinder engine delivers 101 bhp and accelerates the
S4 from 0 to 100 kph in 3.1 and from 0 to 200 kph in 11.4 seconds. The top speed
is stated to be about 240 kph. At the same time the machine has a good, safe
Brembo braking system. A rigid chassis provides it with simple handling and
the stability that guarantees excellent road-holding and, above all, outstanding
cornering. However the decisive factor is a perfect design, characterized by
its attractive styling, powerful engine, remarkable sound and expensive chassis.
The performance of this first water-cooled Monster makes the S4 the most powerful
offspring of the Monster family.

Some important changes took
place in motor cycle racing during the 2002 season. It was now permissible to
drive 990 cc bikes in the newly formed Moto-GP Class. Honda prepared for these
new changes with great precision and application and responded to the technical
requirements with a quite revolutionary racing machine, the new RC 211V. The
Honda has an innovative four stroke, five cylinder engine with 3 cylinders in
front and 2 behind. The superiority of this light 145 kg machine delivering
230 bhp and a top speed of 320 kph was proved in the course of the 2002 season.
The Honda immediately dominated the 1st Grand Prix World Championship. Apart
from the technical superiority that showed in its impressive acceleration (from
0 to 100 kph in 2.2 seconds and from 0 to 200 in 6.0 seconds), this was primarily
down to Valentino Rossi. This young and extremely talented rider who had conferred
the name "the Doctor" on himself, ended the 2002 season the victor
in no less than 11 out of 17 GP races. Again he battled to win the world championship
rider's title. His team mate Tohru Ukawa also won the South Africa Grand Prix
and hanks to these professional riders, Honda succeeded in winning the 2002
world championship constructor's title.

Extensive decals for the 2003 MoviStar Team RC 211 V and also for the rider
Sete Gibernau and his team mate Daijiro Kato
After winning the title
in the 2002 motorcycle Kings Class, a similar result was expected from this
outstanding, absolutely revolutionary, racing bike. Following its brilliant
success Honda only made a few modifications, which are visible in the exhaust
and the slight changes to the fairing, so that this innovative, water-cooled,
five-cylinder, four-stroke engine now produced over 240 bhp. Honda also succeeded
in increasing the top speed to 330 kpm. As usual the Honda RC 211 V accelerated
from 0 to 100 kph in 2.2 seconds and from 0 to 200 in only 5.9 seconds. So it
was no surprise that the Honda dominated the 2003 season. The MoviStar Team
had collected a satisfying 299 points in the team standings at the end of the
year. On the starting grid, the MoviStar Team had the Spaniard Sete Gibernau
who, thanks to his four victories and 6 additional podium places, was battling
for second place in the World Championship. His team mate Daijiro Kato, the
"Rookie of the Year" the previous year, was the great favourite for
the 2003 season, however, he was fatally injured in the Japanese GP at Suzuka.

Various decals for the 2003 RC 211 V version of the Pramac Pons Team as well
as for the driver Max Biaggi and his team mate Tohru Ukawa
Following a second-place
finish in racing's premier class in 2002 a similar result was expected from
this quite revolutionary racing machine for the 2003 season. Due to its overwhelming
success only minor changes were made to the Honda and these are evident in the
exhaust and slight changes to the fairing. The innovative water-cooled four-stroke,
five-cylinder engine now delivered over 240hp and Honda was able to increase
the machine's top speed to 330 km/h. The Honda RC 211 V's acceleration was as
expected - from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.2 seconds and from 0 to 200 in only 5.9 seconds.
It was therefore no surprise that the Honda dominated the 2003 season. The Pramac
Pons Team's impressive year-end points total was 351 in the team rankings. Italian
Max Biaggi rode for the Pramac Pons Team and, thanks to his unique style, worked
his way up to rank third overall at the end of the year. His team-mate Tohru
Ukawa was the 2003 favourite and he battled his way into eighth place during
the Moto GP season.
