The special feature
of this unconventional little car is the steering column which swivels upwards
with the door via a cardan joint when opening the front and the Revell model
delights in offering the very same mechanics.
The Isetta was
powered by a 12 hp throttled 250 ccm one-cylinder four-stroke engine. This
'motorcycle with roof' was a status symbol of the 50s in Germany, and with
the newly acquired mobility created an unstoppable urge to venture further
affield. Even though the car and camper together offered precious little space,
there was still enough room for two adventure-seekers to sit at the front
and stretch out in the back, since the roof could be raised up, as can be
done with the Revell model.

The Dart That Gives You a Head Start!
The Dodge Dart was refreshed for 1970 with front and rear
changes designed to bring the car closer to the design themes found in Dodge's
full-size vehicles through grille and contour changes. In the rear, the Dart's
new rectangular tail lights were set into a wedge-shaped rear bumper design
continuing the angled trailing edge of the new deck lid and quarter panels.
The revised rear styling cut trunk space almost in half compared to the 1969
model. Changes to the fuel system improved driveability, economy and emission
control. Part-throttle downshift was added to the 8-cylinder automatic transmissions.
In compliance with new DOT standards rectangular side-marker lights and reflectors
were installed at all four corners.
A number of other changes were made to the Dart line for 1970
in order to avoid internal competition with Dodge's new ponycar, the Challenger.
The convertible was discontinued along with the optional 383 and 440 cubic-inch
V8 options, leaving the small-block 275-horsepower 340 four-barrel V8 as the
top-line Dart engine. The sole performance model in the Dart line for 1970
was the Swinger 340 two-door hardtop.

1/18 1971 Dodge Dart Swinger 340 Citron Yellow
If you want more run for your money... choose Dodge Dart!
The 340 engine was not avaiable in the Dart Swinger in 1971.
In that year, the fastback Demon 340 had replaced the hardtop 1970 Swinger
340 in the Dodge lineup. Fans of performance A-body hardtops were left empty-handed.
Two Dodge dealerships in Canada, one in Saskatchewan called
Crestview and another in Edmonton, Alberta convinced Chrysler to make a special
run of 340 Swingers in 1971 due to their success with the 1970 models.
A total of 75 340 Swinger Specials built exclusivley for the
Canadian market. All serial numbers and order numbers were sequential. The
cars all included rallye wheels, chrome exhaust tips, and hood/wheel mouldings.
Most had hood scoops as well. All 75 cars had the bumble bee stripe even though
none were coded for it. The cars Crestview cars were available in a variety
of popular colors.
Generally the 1971 Dart Swinger 340 was similar to the 1970
model. The most noticeable differences were the blacked-out front grille and
quad tail lights on the 1971 models. Some of the emblems were mounted in different
lcatiosn as well. The "Swinger" emblem was located on the front
fenders, instead of the rear quarters like the 1970 Swingers, and has a "Special"
emblem under it. The "DART" emblem remained on the rear quarters
like in 1970.
