The Super Cub is
without doubt the best known aircraft from the Piper Corporation, the name of
which became synonymous with the desire to fly sporting planes. The PA-18 was
introduced in 1949 and for decades it determined the image of the Piper Aircraft
Corporation. To this day, this immortal aircraft continues to be its own successor.
Its simple, robust construction was continually developed and upgraded with
more powerful engines. The Super Cub is a strutted high-wing monoplane with
tubular steel airframe and fabric cover. Production finally came to an end in
the 1990s. In total over 40,000 of the Cub and Super Cub versions were built,
which makes it the most numerous aircraft of its class. In addition to civil
versions, due to the interest shown by various air forces, military versions
were also produced, the best known being the L-18C. This aircraft was also used
by the German Air Force for selecting and training aspiring pilots.

On 10th January 2006 Austrian Airlines again drew attention to a long-range
jet by covering it all over with an impressive special design. The Austrian
airline subjected a jumbo jet A340-300 to a complete transformation to promote
that symbol of Austrian art and culture - the Vienna Philharmonic - throughout
the world. In close collaboration between Austrian Airlines, the Vienna Philharmonic
and the Austrian mint, a design was created for the aircraft that presented
special features of the world-famous orchestra and its musical instruments.
The Airbus A340-300 OE-LAL is mainly used on the long-haul route to Japan and
also on the North American route. The decorative elements comprising a total
of 230 individual pieces of foil with a total area of approx. 600 mý
and a total weight of 70 kg were attached to it at Vienna Airport. The A340
has four type CFM56-5C2G engines delivering a maximum thrust of 140,000 kN each.
The maximum range with full payload is about 12,800 km. The Scandinavian airline
SAS has also used the A340 successfully on long-haul routes since 2001.

One of the key
milestones in the Airbus A380 programme took place on 18th January 2005. The
world's first full-length twin-deck aircraft was officially revealed to the
world for the first time at a ceremony to be held in the Jean-Luc Lagardere
Final Assembly Line hall at Toulouse, France. More than 4,500 guests attended
this event. The A380 reveal will also mark the launch of Airbus' new livery.
The change in livery, the first since the A310. The A380 is the first aircraft
to display the company's new colours that reflect not only Airbus' current market
position but also its ambitions to pursue aviation excellence long into the
future. The 555-seat A380 passenger aircraft has a range of up to First passenger
operations are scheduled to begin in 2006 when the A380 is due to enter service.
The first A380 to take to the air landed at Blagnac international airport in
Toulouse, France on 27th April 2005 at 14.23 local time (12.23h UTC) after successfully
completing its first flight that lasted three hours and 54 minutes. For its
first flight, the A380 took off at a weight of 421 tonnes / 928.300 lbs, the
highest ever of any civil airliner to date. This maiden voyage, during which
all primary flight test objectives were met, marks the beginning of a rigorous
test flight campaign involving five A380. The scope and rigour of the A380 ground
and flight test programme should also prepare for a smooth entry into service.

The LS8, with a total build
of over 500 units so far, is the most produced glider of the last 10 years and
is the best guarantee of leading positions in competitions to date. Numerous
placings in national and international championships in both the standard and
the racing classes vouch for the singularity of the concept and the superiority
of the performance of the LS8. The features particularly praised by all the
pilots are its harmonious flying characteristics and the outstanding handling
of its controls. Since the original manufacturers "Rolladen-Schneider"
have been taken over by "DG-Flugzeugbau" the production range of the
LS8 is being enlarged by some modifications.

Speed 850 km/h
A new era of
long haul passenger air travel was inaugurated in October 2007 with the entry
into airline service of the A380. The A380 is the most advanced, spacious
and eco-efficient airliner in service today. In a typical three-class, 525-seat
configuration, it delivers noticeably more comfort while offering 40 per cent
more capacity than the next largest airliner. In addition, the advanced materials
and systems of the A380, together with state-of-the-art aerodynamics and all-new
engines, result in outstanding economics, superior performance and high operational
flexibility - delivering 20 percent lower operating costs per seat than current
aircraft in its category. Per passenger, the A380 has unmatched fuel efficiency
of less than three litres per passenger per 100 kilometers. Its new-generation
engines, Rolls-Royce Trent 900 or Engine Alliance GP7000, and superb aerodynamic
performance mean that the A380 does not only comply with today's noise limits
but is also significantly quieter than any other large aircraft flying today.
The Reveal of the A380 on 18 January 2005 marked the launch of Airbus' new
livery. The change in livery was the first for Airbus since introduction of
the A320. The A380 was the first aircraft to display the company's new colours
that reflect not only Airbus' current market position but also its ambitions
to pursue aviation excellence long into the future.

With the Airbus A380,
Lufthansa opened a new chapter in the history of air travel. The first Lufthansa
Airbus A380 will go into service with the summer flight schedule. The largest
and most up-to-date passenger aircraft in the world opens up a new dimension
for long-haul flights. This new aircraft will enable Lufthansa to bring about
550 passengers to their destination comfortably, quickly and safely in three
classes. That is approx. 40% more than in a Boeing B747-400 of today. It is
already established: in the A380 Lufthansa will present for the first time
the new first class that will be located on the upper deck like the business
class. The Lufthansa A380 fleet will be used mainly on the busiest routes
to Asia and North America. The Lufthansa network strategists are currently
focussing their attention on about 20 destinations. Lufthansa have ordered
a total of 15 of these modern jumbo jets, making them the largest customers
among the European airlines. The Airbus A380 is not only the largest and most
up-to-date passenger aircraft ever built, it is also the first airliner in
the world to have two full length passenger decks. The A380 has been designed
in close collaboration with airlines and airports and with many industrial
suppliers and partners. It is a product that is targeted at a specific market
and is compatible with the existing infrastructure. Despite an extended range
and increased passenger capacity it has been possible to reduce the fuel consumption
and pollutant emissions. The experts expect to achieve a consumption of 3
litres of kerosene per passenger per 100 km. The flagship of the 21st century
is distinguished by numerous innovations including: a completely redesigned
passenger cabin and improved new materials. The tail unit with vertical and
horizontal surfaces are made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic. The Lufthansa
A380 is equipped with low-noise and low-emission engines. The Rolls Royce
Trent 900 has a capacity of 311 kN / 70,000 lb thrust. The range is approx.
14,800 km. Length: 73 m; height: 24 m; span: 79.80 m; weight: approx. 570
tonnes, engine diameter: 2.95 m.

The Do 228 is a light
aircraft for regional transport. For the surveillance of shipping in the North
Sea and the Baltic the German Ministry of Transport had 2 machines designated
228 LM equipped for tracking environmental infractions at sea. These were designed
to track marine pollution and in particular to trace the illegal dumping of
used oil by shipping. The Dornier 228 also flies in the Netherlands within the
framework of European environmental monitoring.

The "Spirit of St Louis" is without doubt the most famous aircraft
of all time, designed and built with one aim only: the NON-STOP transatlantic
crossing from New York to Paris. After numerous unsuccessful attempts by other
pilots, on 20th May 1927, Charles Lindberg took off from New York for this world-shattering
event. He covered a distance of over 3,600 miles (5972 km) in 33.5 hours and
on 21st May 1927 he landed at Paris, Le Bourget, where he was met with great
acclaim.

Year/Period 1932
Origin D
Engine capacity 3 x 485 kW
Speed 290 km/h
There is hardly any
civil or military aircraft that is better known than the Junkers Ju 52. In the
1930s it was the essence of safe air travel and the embodiment of reliability.
To begin with - to suit the cargo carriers - it was a single-engine aircraft.
But airlines such as Lufthansa, for the safety of their passengers, preferred
a three-engine variant, which in addition to robustness and short take-off and
landing distances, offered minimum maintenance and low costs. On 7th March 1932,
the first 3-engine aircraft took off on its maiden flight. This series used
BMW 132A radial engines with a capacity of 660 hp. This gave the Ju 52 maximum
speeds between 250 and 290 km/h.

Origin D/F
Engine capacity 2 x 4483 kW
Speed 536 kph
More than 40 years after its maiden flight the C-160 Transall still enjoys an
excellent reputation with the crews as a safe and reliable transport. It is
often present in the media due to its international use in disaster areas and
flights for aid organisations such as the UNHCR. Many air transport squadron
anniversaries over time have given the Transall interesting special liveries
that have enjoyed great popularity. The Transall maiden flight on 25 March 1963
was followed by two other prototypes produced in Germany and 6 pilot series
before production could begin in 1966. The first of the 160 machines ordered
were delivered in May 1967, that is 110 of the Transall C-160D were produced
for the German air force and 50 of the Transall C-160F were produced for France.
Series production ended in Germany in 26th October 1972. However renewed interest
in France made it necessary to resume production. Thus between 1978 and 1985
a further 33 of the Transall were built for a variety of duties. The crew consists
of 2 pilots, a navigator and a flight engineer. It can also carry up to 93 soldiers
or 81 paratroopers. For air ambulance duties it can carry stretchers for 62
wounded and 4 seats for medical personnel. It has a maximum speed of 536 km/h,
a maximum take-off weight of 49.1 tonnes and a maximum range of 4,560 km.

Speed 209 km/h
The Piper Super Cub is without doubt the best known aircraft made by
this firm. It is based on the J-3 Cub made in 1937 and the improved J-4 Coupe
that was superseded by the PA-18-95 and given the name Super Cub. A total
of 40,000 aircraft were built in the Cub and Super Cub range. That makes it
the most built aircraft of its class. The PA-18-150 was an upgraded version
with new engines. There was immediately great demand for a floatplane version,
in particular interest in a floatplane with an integral undercarriage for
amphibian purposes. It was very popular in Canada and the USA and also in
many European countries such as the Netherlands and Switzerland. The model
has the large 150 hp engine with cowling and detailed and detailed float pods
with undercarriage components. The 2nd wing tank is also included.

Year/Period 1956

Engine capacity 201 kW
Speed 227 km/h
The Do 27 was the first aircraft built after the war in Germany, flying
for the first time in 1956. Reliable construction, sound design, versatile usage,
economical operation and extraordinary short take off capabilities are the obvious
features of the Do 27. One of the most striking versions was the Do 27 flown
in East-Africa during the late fifties. It was operated over Serengeti National
Park for counting wildlife, photography and observation. Professor Grizmek conceived
the original painting of the airplane which will now be used in the same livery
again. The Do 27 was the first post-war aircraft to be built in Germany, where
it flew for the first time in 1956. Reliable design, solid construction, versatile
capability, economical operation and extraordinarily short take-off distance
are the outstanding features of the Do 27. One DO 27H, identification D-ENTE,
equipped with an unusual Zebra livery was registered on 26.11.1957 for the OKAPIA
KG M M. Grzimek & Co in Frankfurt-am-Main. With this machine Michael and
his father Dr Bernhard Grzimek, the legendary director of the Frankfurt zoo,
took films of wild animals in Africa. At the same time the machine served as
a observation plane in the Serengeti in Tanzania for researching and monitoring
the threatened animal species and their migrations in one of the last African
wildlife paradises. That resulted in some of the impressive takes in the most
famous German animal film "The Serengeti must not die" which also
received an Oscar for the best documentary film. On 10th January 1959 an accident
happened. The aircraft with Michael Grzimek at the controls collided with a
bearded lammergeyer vulture over the Serengeti and crashed.

Zeppelin airship
travel reached its highest point with the LZ129 airship. Unlike an aircraft,
the airship was able to link continents non-stop by air. The luxuriously appointed
"Hindenburg" developed by Graf Ferdinand von Zeppelin came to a
tragic end: before the eyes of the world public the airship caught fire on
the evening of 6th March 1937 as it approached the US airship port at Lakehurst.
By some miracle 61 of the 97 passengers on board survived. The rigid airship
LZ129 had a gas volume of 200,000 m³. Equipped with 4 Daimler-Benz 16-cylinder
diesel engines each developing 1300 hp, it could reach a cruising speed of
130 km/h.

For many pilots, this was the first plane they learned to
fly. Simple, forgiving, but just remember, keep the landing speed at 60 mph!
(At least that’s what my instructor told me.) This model has a removable
engine cowling, which allows you look at the detailed engine and accessories.
You can see through the cockpit windows to view the instrument panel, controls
and seats. The landing gear is covered by streamlined parts and, to finish
it off, the decals offer a colorful red, yellow and black design.

1/48 BEECHCRAFT V-35 BONANZA
When the unique Vee-tailed Beechcraft Bonanza first appeared,
many fliers were startled when they realized there were only two tail surfaces,
instead of the usual three. But Beechcraft’s engineers produced a successful
design that eliminated the vertical fins that actually reduced drag and increased
speed with the power available. The Bonanza became a popular private plane,
somewhat in the category of a Cadillac or Lincoln of the sky.

One of the most popular sport planes of all time, the Piper
Cub introduced legions of new pilots to the airways. The Super Cub is an advance
version of the original Taylor Cub, from which Piper’s planes were developed.
This plane was frequently the choice of bush pilots, who added floats, skis,
or huge donut-like tires for landing on glaciers. Your Piper Super Cub model
